I choose to be free
At 13, I arrived in rural United States as an immigrant with a strong South African accent, a diagnosis of ADHD & Tourette's syndrome, and low self-esteem. Surrounded by cowboys and cows, I felt like a stranger in a strange land, desperate to "belong". So, I adapted—I changed my accent, behaviors, and interests to blend in with the “cool kids”.
By 16, I had mastered the art of changing myself in order to get my needs met, but in doing so, I lost touch with my true self.
The doctors called it clinical depression, but I now know it was a cry from my soul to be free to express authentically.
At 17, I made a life-changing decision which has guided my own healing and career path: to heal from within, without relying on medication or outside labels.
Today, I strive to live free from the limitations of false beliefs, medication-free, deeply in love with who I am and the life I'm creating.
Now, as a parent of two, hypnotherapist, mentor and retreat creator, I support people around the globe in breaking free from outdated beliefs, limitations and internal prisons.
